Actress, filmmaker, songwriter.
Originally from Barcelona but partly raised in Latin America, Marina is fluent in English, Spanish, Catalan, and French, with mastery of over five Spanish dialects. Now based in NYC, she has a strong foundation in on-camera acting, holding a degree from Pace Univerity in Acting for Film, TV, Commercial, and Voice-Over. In addition to her on-camera work, she brings over 5 years of performance experience in sketch comedy and improvisation, performing with Improvolution and at UCB in New York.
Having moved frequently, Marina has developed a global perspective that deeply influences her work. With a strong foundation in cinema, holding a BA in Film she is currently in the exciting post-production phase of a behind-the-scenes documentary she directed for the upcoming French film Plus fort que le diable by Graham Guit, featuring renowned talents such as Melvil Poupaud, Marine Vacht, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Asia Argento and Raïka Hazanavicious.
Through her personal filmmaking projects and auteur work, Marina hopes to focus on female-led stories that challenge traditional narratives and showcase the non-normative aspects of female behavior from a comedic stand point. This commitment is exemplified in her short film proposal GROSS, a 16mm silent short film where she explored the medium to address gender and present the female gaze in a positive, non-victimized light.
Marina has always had a deep sensitivity towards music. Under her creative singer persona MARINSS, she is releasing her next single Red Sweater alongside its music video this January 24th.
Whether in front or behind the camera, Marina is dedicated to storytelling that captivates and inspires and has base in both NYC and Barcelona.
